Hideg van. Persze: a szürke, borongós, csúnya idő teszi. Meg a lassulóan-gyorsuló, múló kor. Pedig a három fok nem is olyan hideg. Legalább hó lenne.

Vajon miért?
Egyszer, talán húsz évvel ezelőtt, amikor először szólítottak papának, nem örültem neki: nagyon rosszul esett. Akkoriban tele voltam energiával, ötletekkel, tervekkel, el se tudtam képzelni a papucsos, tréning-ruhásan csoszogós, a szavakat kereső „Papát”. Most meg: úgy ragaszkodom kicsiny világomhoz, a megszokottan begyakorolt napi „semmit-tevésemhez”, a tárgyaimhoz, amivé csupaszodott minden.
A kutyáink is elmentek: „a száraz ágak hogy zörögnek”.
Leveszem a polcról: „Elpazaroltam mindenem” – olvasom, elpazaroltam, mormolom magamban tovább. Tényleg elpazaroltam? Micsoda vágyakkal, tervekkel, el nem múlható elhivatottsággal és elszántsággal „ébredeztem”: ide nekem a harcot, a küzdelmet, a világot, kiforgatom, én biztosan kiforgatom! Hittem, hát tettem, aztán azt hittem elérem és tovább tettem, „s kiröhögtem az oktatómat” és mire jutottam …
Elrontottam? Én rontottam el? Hol rontottam el? „Maradj fölöslegesnek,/ a titkokat ne lesd meg./ S ezt az emberiséget,/ hisz ember vagy, ne vesd meg.”
